Read-A-Thon:   

At the end of the year the class that reads the most books wins a pizza party!  Every student must read at least two books.

The Read-aThon is off to a great start!  Parents read with your child to help their class win.

7X  read  103 books** 1st Place
8X  read 40 books
8R  read 25 books
7R  read 21 books

*** Please encourage your child to read and help your child get extra points by reading a book with them.

 

Grammar:

This month we will learn about adjectives and how they help make our writing more interesting. We will also work with verbs which provide action in a sentence.

 

 

Reading Skill:

This month we will be working on the following reading skills:   compare/contrast,  prediction, and drawing conclusions.

 

 

Project: Mystery

The students will read a mystery book. Once the students learn about the elements of a mystery, they will write their own mystery.
