Action Alert: 2019 Budget Nonpublic School Funding

Thank you for your help in asking Governor Murphy to keep the increased funding for nonpublic school transportation, nursing services, and technology in the Fiscal Year 2019 State Budget.

The 2019 State Budget Governor Murphy signed included this increased funding that is vital for our schools.

Human Life Action and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have issued an Action Alert regarding the upcoming vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy’s announcement that he will retire on July 31 has given renewed fervor to pro-abortion groups’ constant drum-beat that nominees are unfit for judicial office if they do not promise to endorse Roe v. Wade. Advocates for abortion are also preparing to make a nominee’s religious affiliation a source of suspicion and subject of debate. The New Jersey Catholic Conference has issued an Action Alert regarding the Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act (A1504) which was released by the Assembly Judiciary Committee on March 12 and will now be voted on by the General Assembly. Action Alert: Support S. 1922 - Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

The Diocese of Metuchen Office of Respect for Life has issued an Action Alert urging support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act which was passed the U.S. House of Representatives on October 3 and was introduced in the U.S. Senate as S. 1922 on October 5. Cardinal Dolan noted in his letter to Congress on October 17 that the “stories of children born earlier in pregnancy, as early as 20 weeks post-fertilization, are becoming more common.” Below is a video highlighting one such story:

ST A'S IN THE NEWS – THE CATHOLIC SPIRIT – JANUARY 25, 2018

St. Augustine School's commitment to service in the community is featured prominently in the January 25, 2018 issue of The Catholic Spirit: Kindergarten's participation in the inter-generational Christmas play "The Angel's Song" at Brandywine Living (pages 1 and 22), students of all grades collecting donated items for the Hands Across the Sea Ministry for Veterans Day (page 23), and Middle School students making mats for the homeless out of "plarn" - plastic yarn made from recycled plastic bags (pages 27 and 28).
